MCPS in Family Medicine
MCPS stands for Membership of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) recognized by PMDC, HEC, and Saudi Arabian Council. You can be appointed as Staff Physician, Lecturer or Senior Registrar in any institution.
MCPS was started in 1980 with an aim to produce competent family physicians and to improve the knowledge of existing family physicians.
Who can appear in MCPS exam?
- Two years of training in a hospital under a Supervisor
- Five years experience of general practice.
General Practice Means
- Any job or private clinic where patients of all ages and both gender come with any disease.
For Example
- GP clinic, General duty medical officer, Posting in Basic Health Unit (BHU), Corporate sector job like PTCL, Sui Gas etc.
What is the Procedure of MCPS?
- First, register with RTMC (Research and Training Monitoring Cell) of CPSP.
- Once you get RTMC Registration, and then apply for CPSP mandatory workshops.
- After the workshops, submit MCPS exam fee with application form for Exam.
Mandatory Workshops of CPSP
- Computer skills (3 days)
- Basic life support (1 day)
- Basic surgical skills (3 days)
- Communication skills (3 days)
Registration Process for MCPS
- Twice a year January and July only
